Cancellations can occur up to 1 hour before program/game/practice start times, this includes Saturday games. If weather changes during the day, the Info Line will be updated. So programs/games/practices with an early morning start date may be played and, if the weather changes during the day, later programs/games/practices may be cancelled.
Please note that the individual BOE and Town Recreation Departments determine if fields are open or closed and these decisions are often made early in the morning on weekends and in the afternoon on weekdays. In addition, WHSA monitors radar to determine if weather will change for the better or worse before updating program/game/practice status.
WHSA makes every effort to hold programs/games/practices on the day scheduled as there is no opportunity to make up any cancellations and therefore WHSA will wait until up to an hour prior to the start time to cancel.
