4) Background Check

Everyone must be fingerprinted once.  Instructions for fingerprinting and the required forms.

In addition, a background check will done when fingerprinted and once every three years thereafter as long as the individual remains involved with the club.  WHSA will request and pay for any subsequent background checks after the initial fingerprinting and background check.  Reimbursement from WHSA for fingerprinting is available for any volunteer/coach.

5) State Law and NJYS require both Travel and Recreation Coaches to take online concussion training and provide proof of completing the training.

WHSA understands these requirements seem extensive to be a volunteer coach. However, the town is serious about enforcing them and they are meant to protect our children. You will not be permitted to coach in the WHSA without meeting these requirements.
